In keeping with the mission of Ho-Chunk, Inc., mentoring the youth of our community now will go a long way to create responsible, contributing adults for the future.

HCI Junior Achievement
HCI has identified a program that is tailor-made to accomplish that objective and it works for all age groups. The key is to reach our children before they’ve formed bad habits and lost any hope that they can be anything they want to be. The nationally recognized Junior Achievement Program works with children from kindergarten through 12 th grade to develop a responsible and effective path for success along with their regular school education.

Junior Achievement uses hands-on experience to help young people understand the economics of life. In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential.

Elementary
The Elementary School Programs include seven sequential themes for kindergarten through sixth-grade. Students learn the basic concepts of business, economics and personal finance.

Middle School
The Middle Grade Programs build on concepts learned at the Elementary level and helps teens make the difficult decisions on how to best prepare their educational and professional future. The programs supplement standard social studies and helps develop effective communication skills.

High School
The High School Programs help students make informed decisions about their future and fosters skills that will be highly useful in the business world. Junior Achievement teaches about concepts from microeconomics to free enterprise. The volunteers bring real-life business experience and guidance into the classroom at a time that represents an essential crossroads for young people.

HCI is financially sponsoring this program by providing all materials, training and other expenses necessary to operate the program. In addition, classroom volunteers to teach and monitor the success of the program will also come from Ho-Chunk companies and other associated organizations.

The HCI Junior Achievement Program reinforces the values of education, career and self-esteem with area youth. We believe Ho-Chunk’s support of this important program will truly make a difference in the lives of the children and their future in the community.
