1️⃣ How did you fall into this line of work?

I actually got my HR degree while working full time in a warehouse at my last company. The HR person decided to retire so I put in for the opening and got the job. I worked in Human Resources at my last job for over 15 years in various HR roles as well as safety.

2️⃣ What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I love helping people with any type of issues they may have, whether it is at work or in their personal lives. I also enjoy the training side of Human Resources. Being able to mentor and train an associate that is trying to further their career and watching them grow makes me happy to know that I had a hand in their development.

3️⃣ How long have you been with the company and what are some ways you have grown since you started?

I’ve only been with Ho-Chunk, Inc. since the beginning of January, but what I’ve noticed is that everyone has been very welcoming and willing to teach me what they know. This is a very family-oriented organization

4️⃣ What has been one of your favorite projects so far, and why?

I am currently on a job description project, which is the first one I’ve been on since joining Ho-Chunk, Inc. I really look forward to working with the project team to get the job descriptions up-to-date and loaded into the system.

5️⃣ What do you like to do outside of work?

I love spending time with my wife and three daughters. My daughters are 16, 5, and 3 years of age. During the summer we enjoy camping and spending time at the lake. In the wintertime, we enjoy sledding, having snowball fights, and building snow men.

6️⃣ What is something about you that might surprise people?

I was a wrestler from the age of 5 through high school in the state of Nebraska. I really enjoyed the comradery and sense of team associated with the sport. It taught me a lot of discipline and accountability growing up.

7️⃣ What insights or advice would you give to someone who is thinking about applying to work here?

I would tell someone who was thinking about applying at Ho-Chunk, Inc. that it would be a great career decision. Ho-Chunk, Inc. treats their employees like family and truly does care.

8️⃣ Do you have anything you’re looking forward to or have you done anything fun or interesting lately?

I really enjoy going to California with my family to see my wife’s parents in Los Angeles. We take the kids to the beach, Disneyland, and Knotts Berry Farm to go on some rides and play games. My kids love plane rides.
