We are proud to recognize the Legacy Learning team, led by Troy Armell and Miguel Baker, for successfully completing the program’s 5th cohort.

This cohort partnered with the Winnebago Housing & Development Commission on a meaningful renovation project. Through this collaboration, participants were given the opportunity to renovate a vacant four-bedroom home while gaining valuable hands-on construction experience.

Participants developed skills in demolition, site preparation, measuring and cutting materials, tile installation, drywall installation, cabinet assembly and installation, painting, and finishing work. With assistance from the Ho-Chunk Farms harvesting crew, the cohort also constructed 15 picnic tables for the South Sioux City horse races.

In addition to technical training, participants strengthened essential life and workplace skills, including work ethic, communication, professionalism, and teamwork.

We would also like to thank our Legacy Learning instructors, Vincent and Greg Bass, for their continued dedication and for sharing their knowledge and expertise with each cohort.

With the Legacy Learning program, our mission extends beyond skills training. We strive to identify and address barriers while creating opportunities that empower participants to succeed both within the program and in their future careers.

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this cohort a success.
