Meet Sharon Bassette, 2022 Summer Intern

Sharon is from Winnebago but grew up in Rapid City, SD. She is an enrolled member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. Her HoCak name is Mąąnąąpe Xųnų Wįga, and it means Little Soldier Woman.

She recently received her B.A. in Political Science with minors in Legal Studies and Psychology from Morningside University.

Sharon would like to use her time during the internship to learn more about Ho-Chunk, Inc., and their many subsidiaries near and far.

Sharon’s bucket list is mostly filled with traveling to interesting destinations. The place that sits at the top of her list is the Turks and Caicos Islands. Her favorite food is currently toast.

Her favorite quote is, “Every day may not be good, but there is good in every day,” by Alice Morse Earle.
